As the story goes on, Winston wants to take down Big Brother to live in a world where everyone can be free and not worry about every action you make. Winston begins to feel as he has less power because he has committed crimes that would lead him into punishments brought to the thought police. He later on starts admiring and fantasizing about dark haired woman which he seems to love. But gets very paranoid when Winston is with her. Later on, Winston finds it difficult to remember his past, which is due to the fact that the government has banned people from having any records. There are also children who are being trained as spies to help Big Brother with their surveillance. The reason why Winston thinks about being free one day is because of Big Brother.
